Great News: Your doctor doesn’t need to “take Medicare” for the $50 Weight-Loss Bridge!
We’ve been getting a lot of questions about the new $50 weight-loss drug program starting July 1st.
One of the biggest worries was:
“My specialist doesn’t accept Medicare… does that mean I’m locked out of the savings?”
The answer is NO! Confirmed just yesterday, the “GLP-1 Bridge” program has a special rule:
As long as you have Medicare Part D (prescription coverage), any licensed doctor can write your prescription for Wegovy or Zepbound and submit the paperwork—even if they aren’t a “Medicare provider.”
Why this is a big deal for you:
Keep Your Specialist: If you see a specific weight-loss specialist or a private wellness doctor, they can still help you get the $50 price.
Less Paperwork Stress: You don’t have to go find a new primary care doctor just to get this specific benefit.
Faster Start: Since the July 1st launch is fast approaching, you can start the conversation with your current doctor today.
Remember: Eligibility is still based on your BMI (usually 27+ with a health condition, or 30+ without).
Do you have a doctor you trust who doesn’t usually handle your Medicare paperwork? Now is the time to give them a call!
